Objectives and Projects

     The Research and Study Centre for Cognitive Programs and technologies was founded in the Russian State University for the Humanities on February 2, 2010 by the decision of the Council for cognitive programs and technologies, headed by Dr. of historical sciences, Prof., Corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences, rector of the university Efim Pivovar. 

     The Centre's objectives and functions include:

  • Connection of fundamental science with academic activities;
  • Implementation of research results in education process;
  • Training of specialists, masters and postgraduate students;
  • Development of forms of specialists training on the basis of Russian and international experince;
  • Scientific development of humanitarian problems (interdisciplinary approach; interrelation between cognitive psychology, linguistics, philosophy, politology, artificial intelligence theory; interaction with scholars in genetics, physiology and neurosciences);
  • Coordination of research in congnitive sciences;
  • Use of cognitive sciences methods and modern technologies in education process.
  • Preparation of state and educational standarts for cognitive sciences;
  • Enrollment of students for the specialization;
  • Providing education process with research and training manuals;
  • Development and publication of the Centre’s Bulletin;
  • Development and technical support of the Centre’s website;
  • Development of information databases which can be used either in research or in education process (printed materials, audio and video materials, computer databases);
  • Organization of conferences and round tables on topic and results of the Centre’s research work;
  • Participation in Academic educational association for the Humanities, Interregional Association for cognitive studies, Russian association of cognitive linguists and Cognitive Science Society;
  • International cooperation, development and implementation of multilateral and bilateral international projects;
  • Organization of regular seminars on cognitive sciences;
  • Training of postgraduate students and advanced training for the Centre’s staff (research internship, research work, giving short talks at conferences in Russia and abroad). 

 

     The Functions of the Centre:
