The seventh issue of the scientific journal "Vestnik MGLU" published the article "Representation of Events in Mental Models and Discourse" written by Vera Ivanovna Zabotkina, vice-rector for International Cooperation, Director of the Research and Study Center for Cognitive Programs and Technologies. The article analyzes the representation of events within the framework of the dichotomy "mental models – discourse". The process of event mental models constructing is represented by two stages: the multimodal perception of an event (pre-conceptual stage) and the construction of a new event model. A discourse that describes the events of cultural life is presented as the material for analysis. Mental models of this type of event are complex multidimensional structures of integrated knowledge representing.
